Here are some of the most common questions we get asked around Huawei P8 Repairs - select your issue and see what we can do for you.
My Huawei P8 has water damage...what should I do?
Firstly, here’s what you shouldn’t do, despite popular opinion! Don’t put your Huawei P8 in rice, in the airing cupboard or on a radiator. The rice doesn’t do anything to help, and the dry heat from the other two options will cause corrosion. What you should do is retrieve your phone from the washing up bowl or toilet, turn it off and contact us immediately. The quicker you get your water damaged Huawei P8 to us, the more chance there is of a repair.
My Huawei P8 isn’t holding its charge - do I need a battery replacement?
Not necessarily. There can be several reasons why your device isn’t charging and it might not be due to Huawei P8 battery problems at all. Here are a few things to check:
Shine a torch into the charging port on your phone - if there’s any dirt or grime blocking it, this could be causing the issue. Use a toothbrush (or something that won’t conduct electricity!) to clear it out.
Try a different charging cable - the issue may be here and not with your Huawei P8 at all. If your phone is dead, do a hard reset - hold down both the power and the home button for 30 seconds - this may reboot the phone.
It may be that if none of the above works, that an Huawei P8 battery replacement is required. Give us a call here at iSmash and we’ll diagnose the problem for you.
The home button on my iPhone 6s isn’t working - can you fix this?
If the home button on your iphone 6s is not working there are a few things you can do to try and fix it yourself. (Or you could give us a call...but let’s see if we can save you a few pennies!) Sometimes, months of dust and grime build-up can cause the iPhone 6s home button to become unresponsive and block the push mechanism. A simple clean can do the trick - try pressing the button in and cleaning around it.
If that doesn’t work you can try recalibrating the button - launch one of the pre-installed apps on the phone, then press and hold the power button so ‘slide to power off’ appears. Now press and hold the unresponsive iPhone 6s home button until ‘slide to power off’ disappears and the application closes.
If you still have no luck, try a factory reset which may fix the issue. If the problem persists, an iPhone 6s home button replacement or repair may be necessary, so contact us and we’ll be happy to look into it for you.
My touchscreen has stopped working - do I need an Huawei P8 screen replacement?
In order to diagnose this and understand if you need an Huawei P8 screen repair or replacement, we need to determine if the issue is software or hardware related. If it’s software, you may be able to take some action. First - is it an intermittent problem that only occurs when a certain app is in use? Try uninstalling that app.
As with other common issues, a hard reset is sometimes a good way to clear the phone and restore it to its former glory. Although you shouldn’t do this regularly, it can be a way to fix problems. Do a hard reset by turning the phone off, then holding the ‘volume up’ button and the power button for 10 seconds until you see the Android recovery menu.
Still no response? It may be a problem with the hardware. If you’ve recently dropped your phone, this could be to blame even if there is no visible damage. It might be that a repair to the circuitry behind the screen, or an Huawei P8 replacement screen is necessary and iSmash will be able to help.
