Luckily, with iOS 8 theres a handy way to help regulate the amount of messages you are getting and set automatic reminders to get them deleted off your phone as and when you want them gone.

You can do it in just 4 simple steps - Heres how: 

1. Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad running iOS 8 or higher.

2. Hit Messages.Tap on Keep Messages under the Message History section

3. Tap on Keep Messages under the Message History section.

4. Tap on either 1 year or 30 days, whichever one you'd like to set to delete your messages.
